Learning More Each Day

Now, just to clarify from the last post- we never intended to "escape" from our friends. That part has been sad and we look forward to our return pass thru soon. I guess the "escape" that we can identify with our neighbor with is that Athens had just become a dead end for us- especially Gregg's work.

We are finding a lot of joy with our traveling. We're not moving as fast as we thought we would. The pop up doesn't pop up or down very fast to make it worth our while to stay less than a week any one place. We've stumbled upon a great campground here in LA.(That's Lower Alabama!) After the fourth of July we will get all of our stuff moved into the "central" location of north Georgia, off of the interstate. We plan to spend the rest of the summer up there in the higher elevations, too.

Pirate's Cove. A great place to just hang-out. Kid-friendly and Dog-friendly. No leashes necessary for either.

Alex and Kit at Pirate's Cove. We eventually had to "leash" Kit as she almost ate a man's pizza.

"No, Mom, I'm not playing with the camera!"

Getting Started

Getting started has been difficult. We are initiating something that we know nothing about. It's not been something we can predict. Nevertheless, here we are after taking off with our car and pop up in a classic v-shape due to the shocks and the weight of the vehicles not being a match. Careful!

Classic V-Shape

Leaving our house in Athens beginning our Grand Adventure. Notice the clearance. We dragged bottom more than once on our way to FL.

We're at Big Lagoon State Park in Pensacola, FL. Just so glad to be here after all the starts and stops. Now we are thinking this could be a good place to spend the winter, but its not the place for a pop up camper in the summer. There's a lot to Pensacola. Tomorrow we will see the Blue Angels. We are enjoying Perdido Key Beach. Everyone is so nice and helpful here we are a little taken aback after the "Athens Attitude" we have grown accustomed to. I like how our neighbor put it, "Good for you. You've escaped."

The Kids asleep inside the Popup. They're so darling when they're sleeping!

Our campsite in LA (Lower Alabama). We eventually had to buy a screened gazebo due to the "no-see-ums."
